The journey to home ownership can be both exciting and daunting, which is why knowing what to expect gives you the ability to navigate the process with confidence. In this article we’ll guide you through the process, so there are no surprises!
What to expect:
1. Conditional Approval
To kick-off your home loan journey all you need to do is complete our online home loan application. Once your application is lodged, our Lending Specialists will assist you in getting conditional approval. Generally, you can expect this within 1-2 working days after applying.
2. Supporting Documents
To proceed to an unconditional approval our Lending Specialists will ask for some supporting documents. What you need to provide will depend on your personal situation, but generally will include your ID and two most recent payslips. At this stage, we will also undertake employment checks and verify any other commitments you may have.
Next up, it’s time to complete a valuation of the property to determine its value. Your Lending Specialist will arrange for a qualified valuer to complete an assessment. Once this is complete and all your supporting documents are received, your Lending Specialist will issue an unconditional approval.
4. Loan Contract
Now you’re on the home stretch! Your Lending Specialist will send out your loan contract for your review and signature. Simply sign the documents, which need to be witnessed by a Justice of the Peace, and send them back to us.
You’re about to be a homeowner! Your settlement date will be listed in the purchase contract and is generally 30 days from the date you sign and return your contract. This is when we’ll release the funds and you’re offcially a homeowner!
