Our thoughts are with our members and residents in North Queensland who have been affected by the extreme weather.

If you’ve been impacted by the floods, please follow emergency services' directions and avoid driving through floodwaters.

The Queensland Government has provided resources for each local affected area, available here. Grants are available for affected Queenslanders, more information can be found here. Additionally, housing assistance information can be found here.

Support for our flood-affected members

We want to bring awareness to the assistance available to help our members affected by the floods:

General Insurance

Members can lodge insurance claims with our insurance partner, CGU Insurance, by calling 13 24 80 or starting the process online at www.cgu.com.au/claims. CGU is here to support you, with additional help available to assist in getting you back on your feet.

If emergency services have cleared you to return to your property and you are waiting for an assessment, you can begin cleanup as long as it is safe to do so. Please remember to:

  • Take clear photos or videos of any damage to your home and contents.
  • Create a list of all damaged items you dispose of due to safety or health concerns, including details such as make, brand, model, and serial number.
  • If you're removing items like carpet, keep a sample or store them safely where they won’t pose a health risk.

If your contents were damaged and you’ve purchased essential items like cooking appliances, please keep receipts, as these may be considered for your contents claim (if applicable).
