NPP FAQs
Q. How do NPP payments work?
NPP payments will be made using two new services
- Osko – the NPP payment service
- PayID – allows you to identify your accounts without having to remember your bank details
Q. What are the benefits of the NPP?
For you as a member, the main benefits are…
Faster payments
Payments made using Osko (the NPP payment service) will be made in near real-time, with the funds available almost instantly. That means no more waiting 1-2 days for funds to clear when transferring between different financial institutions.
No delays
NPP payments are available 24/7, which means you can say goodbye to delays due to weekends and public holidays!
You can forget your bank details
With the NPP you’ll be able to use your mobile phone number, email address or ABN as your PayID, which you can use to identify your account instead of your bank details. So you won’t need to remember your BSB or account number anymore!
OSKO FAQ’s
Q. How do I make an NPP payment using Osko?
Making a payment using the NPP is just like making a regular transfer to a payee:
- Go to payments section of internet banking / myMOVE App
- If the financial institution your payee banks with is NPP enabled*, you will see two options for your transfer – Osko and Standard Transfer
- Select the Osko option and proceed with your transaction
- If you do not select Osko, your transaction will be processed as a standard transfer.
Once you’ve made an Osko payment to an existing payee, this information will be saved as default in internet banking, meaning that you won’t need to select the Osko payment option next time you want to pay them.
*If the financial institution you are paying is not NPP enabled, only the Standard Transfer option will appear.
Q. Are Osko payments free?
Yes, they are.
Q. What are the daily transfer limits for Osko payments?
The standard transfer limit is $2000 per account per day.
PayID FAQ’s
Q. How do PayIDs work?
If you’re like most people, you probably find it difficult to remember details like your BSB and account numbers. A PayID makes things simple by securely linking the bank account of your choice to a registered mobile phone number, email address, or ABN.
Get Paid
Once you’re set up, you can simply share your PayID with anyone who needs to send you money.
Make Payments
When you use a PayID to make a payment you’ll automatically be shown the name of the person you are paying within your banking application. All you have to do is to confirm it’s the right person before you approve the payment.
Q. How can I set up a PayID for my account?
You can register your PayID to your MOVE Bank account using Internet Banking or the App.
- Login to Internet Banking and go to the “My Preferences “ menu, then select “Update Contact Details
- Make sure your contact details are up to date – you can also add new mobile phone numbers or email addresses you want to use.
Click “Register PayID” and follow the steps to link your details to your bank account of your choice.
Q. Which MOVE Bank accounts will I be able to link to a PayID?
You can register a PayID for any MOVE Bank savings or transaction account – including overdraft accounts.
Q. Can I have two accounts linked to the same PayID?
No – you can only link ONE bank account to each individual mobile phone number or email address.
So if you have three accounts and you’d like to set up a PayID for each of them, you’ll need to use a unique email address or mobile phone number for each account.
Q. Can I change my PayID to a different MOVE Bank account?
Yes. The “Manage PayID” section within Internet Nanking and the App will allow you to switch your PayID to a different MOVE Bank account and request new PayIDs.
Q. Can I change my PayID from a MOVE Bank account to an account at another bank?
Yes. In the “Manage PayID” section you will have an option to make your PayID to “Transfer”.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to login to your other financial institution’s internet banking portal and set up your new PayID using the same email or mobile phone number.
Q. Do you need a PayID to make an Osko Payment?
No, you don’t need a PayID to make an Osko payment. You can still use BSB and Account details as long as the other institution is registered for NPP.
